You may have seen my other Canvasback posts.
If you haven’t, they’re a US company that makes a large variety of interior protective covers. They’ve been around for a while and have good products. The materials are durable and waterproof, all while staying light and offering different color to suit your taste. The fitment is precise and made to handle whatever your dogs, kids, gear, or passengers can throw at them.
In this post, we’ll look at the rear door covers for 4-door models.
Installation
Installation requires no tools and mere minutes. You should be able to complete this in less than 10 minutes for both sides.
Step 1. Clean Door Panels
The first thing you should do is clean the area you are working on. Some portions of the liner have adhesive strips, so it is important that they have a clean surface to mate with.
I vacuumed the interior and sprayed the interior door panels down with a multi-surface cleaner. Then, I scrubbed it all with a water/vinegar/dish soap mix to ensure it was free of any oils that might prevent the adhesive from sticking.
Step 2. Test Fit
Line up the top of the liner on the door panel and make sure it is centered on the door so that it does not interfere with its closing. Once it is lined up, remove the adhesive back and press it firmly onto the door panel.
With the top installed, remove the adhesive backings on the rest of the strips and apply them to the door panel.
Installation is complete! It is that easy.
Note: The liner on the door prevents access to the door handle or pocket. So, this is intended for use when passengers are not in the back seat (unless you don’t need them to access the handles) or you don’t want kids or pets accidentally hitting window switches.
Final Thoughts
This was a super easy install. The door covers are a perfect fit and feel very high-quality. To get rid of the creases out of the box, you could throw them in the dryer on a low cycle, but they’ll naturally go away over time.
